In 2017, the quantity and quality of patent applications had been greatly improved. According to statistics, Panda Electronics applied for 106 patents, of which 55 were applied for inventions. This indicated that the patent application was changed from quantity to quality. There were 101pcs patents were authorized, of which 31 were authorized for inventions.

The 13th Five-Year development plan of Panda pointed out that Panda will vigorously develop the intelligent manufacturing core equipment and intelligent plant system integration service, vigorously develop the smart city including intelligent transportation, safe city, intelligent building and information network equipment. Under the guidance of the planning strategy, every companies have chosen the key technology fields to breakthrough, and continuously improve the proportion of basic patents and core patents.

The industry development department invited the inspectors of the State Intellectual Property Bureau to give guidance patent application in the field of intelligent manufacturing and smart city, which had a good effect. In the past year, 87 patents have been applied only in the field of intelligent manufacturing and smart city, of which 46 are applied for the invention patent. Panda has initially formed an intelligent manufacturing and smart city technology patent pool.
